EcoVelocity is your next chance to see the latest green cars in the metal. It is taking place at Battersea Power Station, London, from 8-11 September 2011.
Visitors will be able to try out the latest green cars on a specially-constructed track in the shadow of the famous power station.
Brands attending the event include Citroen, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Peugeot, Renault, SEAT, Toyota, Lexus, Vauxhall, Volvo, Volkswagen and Mia Electric.
Visitors will have the opportunity to test drive the latest low-carbon cars and motorcycles around a specially designed track, see the green supercars of the future, and there are even driving experiences for 5-11 and 11-17 year olds.
The green supercar paddock will include the iRACER, the Bluebird Electric, the Delta Motorsport E-4 Coupe, the Evelio, the Lightning GT, the Nemesis, and the Westfield Sport E.
In the run-up to the show, EcoVelocity studied vehicle registration data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) and found that London, particularly Camden, Westminster and Islington, are home to the greenest motorists in Britain.
More than one in four cars (28%) registered in the WC postcode have CO 2
emissions of 100 g/km or less, the highest proportion of ‘green’ cars in the UK.
These findings are perhaps not surprising thanks to the London Congestion Charge and its exemption for cars with sub-100 g/km emissions.
