Citroën’s diesel hot hatch hits 119g/km CO2September 25, 2007
Citroën’s 110hp C2 1.6HDi VTS is yet another car to offer motorists emissions of less than 120g/km CO2, with 64mpg – and sporty performance.
The sports model is the first diesel supermini to feature the VTS insignia. With its 110hp 1.6HDi engine, and 5-speed manual gearbox, the new C2 reaches 62mph in 9.4 seconds and a top speed of 120mph. It also delivers 80% more torque than its petrol stablemate, with 192lb.ft available at just 2,000rpm.
The 1.6HDi VTS model has the same specification as the petrol version with air conditioning, ESP, four airbags, an alarm and ABS with EBD all standard, along with 16” alloy wheels. And remember that, at 119g/km CO2, it falls into one of the lowest bands for Vehicle Excise Duty, Band B.
The C2 1.6HDi VTS has a Recommended Retail Price of £13,400, which falls to £10,995 in September, thanks to a special introductory cashback offer. And throughout this month buyers aged 25 or over will be eligible for a year’s free insurance.
