This is the new RX 450h, which Lexus will launch in Europe next summer. This time round, the 4×4 will only be available as a petrol-electric hybrid version in the UK, with the RX 450h replacing both the current RX 400h hybrid and RX 350 petrol engine models.
Lexus was first to market with a hybrid 4×4, and still remains the only manufacturer to offer a 4×4 with hybrid technology in Europe. However the combined fuel consumption of 34.9mpg of the current RX 400h model, with emissions of 192g/km CO2, is way short of some diesel 4x4s, so we’re hoping that the new model will improve on this.
The 450h made its world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, and looks slightly more bloated this time round, presumably with the American market as a main focus.
