Mazda3 i stop to Premiere at Geneva Motor Show

Mazda will debut the Mazda3 with i-stop, Mazda’s advanced fuel-saving start-stop system, at the 2009 Geneva International Motor Show.

The Mazda3 with i-stop features the i-stop system in combination with the MZR 2.0 DISI (Direct Injection Spark Ignition) engine. Together, these two Mazda technologies help the new model achieve approximately 12 percent lower fuel consumption (urban cycle) than the current European Mazda3.

Meanwhile, the MZ-CD 1.6-litre turbodiesel model with diesel particulate filter (DPF) emits just 119 g/km CO2.

The new body of the Mazda3 features improved aerodynamics, with a drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.30 for the hatchback, amongst the best in the segment.
