This means 53.7mpg and emissions of 139g/km CO2. It also results in a range of 826 miles. For company car drivers, it drops four benefit-in-kind tax bands to 18 per cent.
It retains the 160hp, 2.0-litre CDTi diesel engine and still achieves a top speed of 134mph, with a 0-60mph time of 9.3 seconds. It comes with slightly higher gearing, thanks to a revised final drive ratio.
A range of aerodynamic changes help with the ecoFLEX Sports Tourer’s enhanced efficiency, including modified front air inlets and two under-body spoilers which direct air over the rear axle, reducing drag and lift.
The upper front grille has also been closed, while the ride height has been reduced by 3mm at the front and 14mm at the rear. Specially developed low-resistance tyres and aero fins fitted to the rear screen complete the package.
It still comes with a 540 litre luggage area with the rear seats up, or 1530 litres with the seats down.
Vauxhall ecoFLEX Sports Tourer prices start at £21,515 for the Exclusiv model, and extend through S and SE trims to the Elite Nav at £27,750.
