SEAT is displaying a new electric compact sports coupé concept car, the IBE, at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show.
It comes with an electric motor under the bonnet and a lithium-ion battery in the rear of the car. It can reach 62 mph in 9.4 seconds and is capable of 100 mph.
The power unit has a maximum output of 75 kW (102 PS) and 200 Nm of torque, within a car that weighs just 1,000 kg.
SEAT says that the 2+2 coupe, the shape and stance of which have definite family similarities to certain Audis, is designed for ‘youthful living in urban areas’.
The SEAT IBE is equipped with the latest safety and communication systems such as the ability to exchange data about its status or safety alerts directly with other vehicles or the traffic infrastructure.
The company says that it’s now working on plug-in hybrid drive as well as an all-electric vehicle.
