Atomik 500May 27, 2010
The Atomik 500 is an electric car and is based, as you might have guessed from the photo, on a Fiat 500 , but with a weird body kit and wheels.
The French company Atomik describes this vehicle as a ‘city car with supercar performance’, although the looks don’t really fit the supercar description.
It’s appearing in public in the UK; two Atomik 500s are due to be at Salon Privé, an event that showcases luxury cars, supercars and classic cars, held at London’s Hurlingham Club from 21-23 July 2010.
Launched in April 2010, the Atomik 500 has advanced LiFePO4 batteries and has a claimed 0-62 mph time of less than five seconds and a range of up to 120 miles.
The Atomik 500 has permanent four-wheel drive, with 33% of the torque going to the front wheels and 67% to the rear, along with small, wide wheels which are supposed to provide a retro race car appearance, but we guess that is a subjective opinion. Another view is that it looks like a home-made kit car.
Prices are said to be dependent upon the individual specifications of the cars.
