New Citroen Nemo van with 1.3 HDi engine Citroen Euro 5 Nemo van

The Citroen Nemo van has a new Euro 5 1.3 HDi engine which results in 65.7 mpg, and 113 g/km CO2, making it one of the most economical vans you can buy.

As well as a 4.4% improvement in combined fuel consumption over the previous Euro 4 1.4 HDi engine, and lower emissions, the new engine also more powerful, it can cope with heavier payloads, and it has more loadspace and improved specifications.

New Stop & Start technology is a key reason for the improved economy and lower emissions, particularly in urban driving. The Euro 5 1.3HDi engine is also fitted with a self-regenerating Diesel Particulate Filter System (DPFS).

Compared to the Nemo’s previous Euro 4 1.4 HDi engine, the new Euro 5 1.3 HDi unit boosts power from 70 to 75hp, with a major increase in peak torque to 190Nm @ 1,500rpm (previously 160Nm @ 1,750rpm).

Independent testing showed that the Euro 4 Nemo 1.4 HDi was the UK’s most economical van and now the new Euro 5 1.3HDi model offers even better fuel economy, with its 55.4 mpg urban cycle fuel consumption being a full 10.5% better.

These fuel efficiency gains are estimated, at current diesel pump prices, to provide a £230 fuel cost saving, per vehicle, over three years and 20,000 miles, compared to the previous Euro 4 1.4HDi Nemo.

The new Nemo also gains a more economical and cleaner Euro 5 1.4i petrol engine. This engine has, in Euro 5 format, unchanged power and torque figures, although at 35.3 mpg, has a 7.3% better combined cycle fuel economy figure of 44.1 mpg, together with a CO2 emissions reduction from 164 g/km to 148 g/km.

The Euro 5 1.4i powered Nemo van can be converted to Dual Fuel (petrol/LPG).

All new Nemo Euro 5 vans have additional load volume with the 1.3 HDi powered models delivering a 50 kg payload increase to 660 kg.

The new Nemo’s increased load volume has been achieved thanks to the Extenso folding passenger seat now being fitted as standard. This new standard feature increases the available load volume and lengthens the load deck length alongside the driver.

The Extenso passenger seat back folds horizontally onto the seat cushion and the whole seat lowers so that the seat back is level with the load compartment floor.

You can also buy a new full-height mesh bulkhead which prevents loads moving forward into the cab when a driver and passenger are travelling together.

The passenger side half of the new bulkhead hinges so that it can be positioned alongside the driver’s left side to provide complete protection from a load when the Extenso seat is folded flat to increase the load area.

The new Euro 5 Nemo range starts from £9,165 for the 1.4i 75 manual 610 X (exclusive of VAT, delivery to dealer and number plates, government first registration fee and VED).
