This is the new
Peugeot 208
which will be on sale in 2012, and it will feature emissions as low as
87 g/km CO
2
, with fuel economy of
83.1 mpg
.
There will be five models, four of which are equipped with the new generation Stop & Start System (e-HDi). No diesel model will emit more than 99 g/km CO
2
.
The 208 will also introduce a new range of 3-cylinder petrol engines, 1.0- and 1.2-litre VTi, with a range starting at 99 g/km CO
2
(delivering 65.7 mpg).
Its average CO
2
emissions are 34 g/km lower than the 207.
With a range which starts at 975 kg, it will also be 110 kg lighter on average compared to the 207, but as much as 173 kg lighter in some cases.
Aerodynamics have also been improved, with a Cd of 0.29.
The new Peugeot 208 will be launched in mainland Europe in the spring and for the UK in the summer of 2012.
