Drayson Racing Technologies appointed Scientific Adviser to Formula E ChampionshipAugust 28, 2012
Drayson Racing Technologies LLP (DRT) has today announced that it has signed an agreement with Formula E Holdings Limited (FEH) to act as Scientific Advisor to FEH, advising on all matters relating to the scientific positioning of the new FIA Formula E Championship.
Formula E is a new FIA championship featuring specifically-designed zero-emission racing cars powered exclusively by electric energy . It also represents a sustainable vision for the future of the automotive industry over the coming decades.
As Scientific Advisor, DRT’s role will be to develop the championship’s science and technology policies, adhering to internationally-recognised standards, while working alongside the appropriate governmental and non-governmental agencies and the scientific community. DRT will develop such policies, commencing with the launch of the Championship’s Manifesto for Sustainability in the coming weeks.
Zero-emission racing cars

Drayson Racing Technologies LLP is a research & development business based in the heart of the UK’s world-leading motorsport industry at Kidlington, near Oxford. Lord Paul Drayson, a science entrepreneur and the UK Minister for Science and Innovation in the previous government, formed Drayson Racing Technologies to act as a racing laboratory to pioneer the development of green technologies in the challenging environment of motor sport. In July 2012, DRT set a new course record for electric vehicles at the Goodwood Festival of Speed with its B12/69EV all electric-powered racing car.
Formula E Holdings Limited has signed an agreement with the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) to be the exclusive promoter of the new Formula E Championship for 100% electric racing cars. FEH is based in Honk Kong and London.
