SME and micro-enterprises developing innovative low carbon vehicle technology can now apply to showcase their work at LCV2013, Millbrook, 4-5 September 2013.
Cenex – the UK’s first Centre of Excellence for low carbon vehicle technologies – the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), the Technology Strategy Board and the Carbon Trust, have announced the formal opening of a Technology Showcasing opportunity for UK SME and micro-enterprises developing low carbon vehicle technology.
A total of 15 companies will be selected to showcase their innovations for one day at this year’s LCV2013 event, taking place in Millbrook on 4-5 September 2013. The aim of the technology showcase is to raise awareness of grass roots innovation and potentially game-changing technologies being pioneered by UK-based SME and micro-enterprises. It will enable participating companies to promote themselves to industry leaders from vehicle manufacturers through to Tier 1 suppliers and Universities.
Irrespective of the outcomes of the competition, the Technology Strategy Board – the UK’s innovation agency – will help to promote the applicants by hosting the applicants’ Powerpoint summaries on its LCV13_connect website.
The opportunity is ideally suited for companies who have not exhibited at an LCV event before.
The 15 companies selected to participate at this year’s event will receive full exhibitor benefits. Applicants should complete an application form and a company Powerpoint presentation. These will be assessed based on technology proposition, level of innovation, exploitation and endorsement, how they will use the showcasing opportunity and the value of exhibiting at LCV2013, by 21 June 2013. Successful applicants will be announced on 1 July.
Robert Evans, CEO of Cenex says, “LCV2013 provides excellent showcasing and networking opportunities for SMEs and micro-enterprises, as we are expecting over 2,000 visitors including industry experts and government officials. We fully support this Technology Showcasing opportunity as innovation in low carbon vehicle technology is essential for the future of LCVs.”
