New Renault Kangoo Z.E. Van Range to Increase by 50%

The Renault Kangoo Z.E. is due to gain a new motor and battery package that will increase the NEDC driving range by more than 50 per cent, from 106 miles to 168 miles – equivalent to 124 miles in real world driving conditions.

The new Kangoo Z.E. will offer the longest available driving range in the small van market.

Renault Pro+ is to present the all-electric New Kangoo Z.E. on 13 January at the 2017 European Motor Show in Brussels, Belgium.

Europe’s best-selling all-electric LCV and offering zero emissions in use, the Renault Kangoo Van Z.E is available in standard and longer ‘Maxi’ wheelbases. After the Government’s Plug-in Van Grant is applied, the Renault Kangoo Z.E costs from £13,146 excluding VAT.

At 625kg, the Kangoo Z.E Panel Van has nearly the same 650 kg payload as diesel versions, while offering ultra-low running costs from only two pence per mile and being exempt from the Road Fund Licence – and Congestion Charge in central London.

Like all Renault LCVs, the Renault Kangoo Van Z.E comes complete with the reassurance of the manufacturer’s 4-year/100,000-mile warranty and four years’ roadside assistance package.

There’s also the Renault Twizy urban vehicle, Twizy Cargo, that has a load capacity of 180 litres and a 75 kg payload.

The announcement to increase the range of the Kangoo Z.E. follows on from Renault recently launching at the 2016 Paris Motor Show the New Renault ZOE available with a new Z.E.40 battery that increases its NEDC driving range to 250 miles (186 miles in real world driving conditions) – the longest of any mainstream electric car.

In 2015, Renault was the European market leader for electric cars with the ZOE, and also Europe’s electric van leader, with the Kangoo Van Z.E., and sold a total of 23,086 electric vehicles (including Twizy). The Renault ZOE is the second best-selling electric car in the UK representing one in five EVs sold. Renault has sold over 94,000 electric vehicles across the world to date.
