Electric MINI to make appearance at the Oxford EV Summit

Classic Mini Electric

One lucky delegate at the Oxford EV Summit will be able to drive the classic, one-off, Mini Electric – the first time the classic Mini Electric will have been brought to the UK.

The two-day Oxford EV Summit brings together leaders and key players working on electric vehicles and charging infrastructure to explore the opportunities, and the barriers, on the road towards full electro-mobility.

The Oxford EV Summit will be the most significant event of its kind in the UK. Business development, with structured networking, will be central to the summit. Ade Thomas, who is heading up the event, said “We’re rethinking, from the ground up, the nature of these events. We’ll be making 50% of the time at the summit available for business development. We’ll also be ensuring pre-arranged meetings, stripping out the serendipity of who you meet at such an event.”

Participants will gain cutting-edge insight into electric vehicle development and learn what is needed to overcome barriers to electric vehicle uptake. The event will focus on supporting and encouraging practical actions to implement policy, gain finance, change attitudes, and accelerate technology improvements.

There will also be a number of exciting exhibitions showcasing the latest in electric vehicle technology.

300 of the most connected people in the EV space will be invited to attend. These 300 people will be active participants, shaping the debate and the contours of the conversation.

DAY 1 – LEARNING FROM SUCCESS ACROSS THE GLOBE

The keynote speaker will share their vision of a rapid transition to electric vehicles.

Bringing together leading proponents from around the world, along with a global city focus, the day’s sessions will identify how to finance development, identify technical solutions, drive positive attitudinal change, and build the necessary infrastructure. Panel discussions will include policy, finance, OEMs, charging and infrastructure and marketing.

DAY 2 – NATIONAL AND LOCAL ACTIONS

Building on the shared international insights and expertise from the first day, the second day will go further into how countries and cities can take practical actions to drive the uptake of electric vehicles.

This will include how policy framework can help cities to embrace change and grasp the benefits of electric vehicles. Panel discussions will include policy, business, innovations and city successes.

The emphasis throughout will be on dialogue and networking; maximising business development. The summit’s focus is ‘actionable insights’.

Before, during and after the event, participants will have visibility of opportunities. Interests will be captured ahead of the event, connections made during the event, and insights shared afterwards.
