The new DS 3 CROSSBACK is being launched with petrol and diesel engines, but in the second half of 2019 there will be a 100% electric E-TENSE (BEV) version.
The DS 3 CROSSBACK E-TENSE will deliver a driving range of more than 186 miles based on the new WLTP (Worldwide harmonized Light vehicles Test Procedure) drive cycle, corresponding to a range of 280 miles based on the NEDC (New European Driving Cycle) test.
The DS 3 CROSSBACK E-TENSE can be fully charged in 90 minutes with a 100kW public fast charging solution – or 80% in 30 minutes – or in five hours with an 11kW wall box charger.
The electric drivetrain of the DS 3 CROSSBACK E-TENSE is comprised of a 100kW/136hp electric motor and a 50kWh lithium-ion battery located under the floor, giving torque of 260Nm and a 0 to 62mph time of 8.7 seconds.
In the meantime the petrol and diesel DS 3 CROSSBACK models arrive in UK showrooms in May 2019, with a choice of 15 models ranging in price from £21,550 to £33,950.
Petrol DS 3 CROSSBACK models are comprised of a choice of PureTech engines with outputs of 100hp, 130hp and 155hp. The 100hp PureTech has a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the 130hp and 155hp get the eight-speed Electronically-selected Automatic Transmission (EAT8).
The diesel option is the new 100hp BlueHDi 1.5-litre engine with Stop & Start technology and a 6-speed manual gearbox.
There are four models in the UK range – Elegance, PERFORMANCE Line, Prestige and Ultra Prestige – with a highly specified La Premiere Launch Edition exclusive model.
DS 3 CROSSBACK E-TENSE (BEV) pricing will be announced nearer the time of its arrival in the UK later in 2019.
