The all-electric CUPRA el-Born will have a range of up to 310 miles range and it will be on sale in 2021.
Developed on Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, the CUPRA el-Born has a 77kWh (gross: 82kWh) battery, driving the rear wheels, offering a range of up to 310 miles.
Thanks to its fast charging capability, the CUPRA el-Born will take the energy needed for at least 161 miles in only 30 minutes. Acceleration from 0-31mph takes just 2.9 seconds.
The new CUPRA el-Born will launch in 2021.
SEAT will invest five billion euros into its R&D projects by 2025 as it focuses on further electrification of its model line-up. The investment will go towards vehicle development at SEAT’s Technical Centre, particularly towards electrifying the range, as well as equipment and facilities at the Martorell, Barcelona and Componentes plants.
The Martorell factory now heads into the second half of a year which will be marked by the start of production of the new Formentor, the first 100% CUPRA model, and the new plug-in hybrid Leon on line two, joining the fourth generation of the Leon launched earlier this year.
