Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV with Michelin CrossClimate all-season tyres

Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV tops 50,000 sales

The evergreen Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has hit 51,667 registrations since its launch in 2013, making it by far the most popular plug-in car on UK roads.

Despite its age, the Outlander is still selling strongly with 2,662 finding homes in July, although it was pipped to first place by the BMW 330e in the PHEV sales chart.

The news comes off the back of rapidly rising electric car sales, with interest in pure electric and plug-in hybrid growing strongly at a time when car sales overall have been hit hard.

David Rodriguez, Sales and Marketing Director at Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, commented: “The enduring popularity of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV isn’t just down to its technology, reliability and driving refinement, the outstanding service and support provided by our dealer network has been key to its success since day one.”
