The new Nissan Townstar is a compact van that is available with a fully electric powertrain, with a 44kWh battery offering 177 miles of range – a 43% improvement over the outgoing Nissan e-NV200 van.
Nissan is integrating the Around View Monitor (AVM) for the first time in the compact van segment. Using a suite of cameras, the system displays a 360-degree overview of the area around the vehicle, assisting drivers when parking in the city.
The fully electric Townstar also features ProPILOT which allows the vehicle to automatically slow to a full stop and accelerate by following the vehicle ahead, as well as keeping it centred in the lane.
Featuring up to 4.3m3 of cargo space, the new compact van can transport two Euro pallets and up to 800kg of cargo, while the vehicle offers a 1,500kg towing capacity.
The Townstar has 11 kW AC charging as standard, with the option for 22 kW, and it can charge at up to 75 kW DC using a CCS connector, giving a charging time from 0 to 80% in 42 minutes.
