The all-electric Citroën ë-C4 X has been unveiled. Citroën calls it a ‘crossover’; it’s a variation of the Citroën ë-C4, complete with protective wheel arches and lower body skirts. Note that the ë-C4 X is only front-wheel drive, not all-wheel drive.
The Citroën ë-C4 X has the same wheelbase as the C4 hatchback at 2,670mm, but is longer overall, at 4,600mm versus the 4,360mm length of the C4 hatchback. In comparison, the new Citroën C5 X is 4,800mm long. The ë-C4 X has a drag coefficient of cd 0.29.
The ë-C4 X is capable of a range up to 223 miles (WLTP) from its 50kWh battery, it has a 136hp electric motor with 260Nm of torque, and is supported by 100kW rapid charging.
Three driving modes are available – Eco, Normal or Sport. From a 7.4kW Wallbox, charging takes 7.5 hours with a single-phase supply or as little as 5 hours with a three-phase electricity supply and the optional 11kW onboard charger. From a 100kW rapid public charger, the battery can charge from 0% to 80% in just 30 minutes.
The ë-C4 X benefits from Citroën’s new-generation infotainment interface, first seen on New Citroën C5 X. MyCitroën Drive Plus offers a new interface using a 10-inch HD screen that can be fully personalised by customers.
The ë-C4 X has a 510-litre boot, Citroën’s Smart Pad Support, a retractable tablet holder built directly into the dashboard, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.
In the UK, customers will be able to order the all-electric Citroën ë-C4 X early in 2023.
