440-mile range for the Fisker Ocean

The Fisker Ocean has been confirmed as having an electric driving range of 440 miles, which will make it the longest-range electric SUV on sale in Europe.

Deliveries of the Fisker Ocean are due to start in Europe from May, with four trim levels: Sport, Ultra, Extreme and the launch edition ‘One’. Ocean pricing starts at £35,970 for Sport trim; Ultra trim costs £49,880, and both Extreme trim and the launch-edition One cost £60,880.

All versions of the Ocean have a ‘Hyper Range’ battery and dual motor all-wheel drive, apart from Sport trim which has a ‘Touring Range’ battery and single motor and front-wheel drive. The Fisker Ocean also has up to 550hp and can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds.

Extreme and One versions feature a full-length SolarSky roof which can help to generate energy for the car’s battery, giving up to 1,500 miles per year, or possibly over 2,000 miles under ideal conditions.

You can also use the car’s PowerBank bidirectional charging system to power items of electrical equipment, another EV, or even a house – potentially for up to seven days.

The Fisker Ocean’s Smart Traction feature distributes different amounts of torque to different wheels when cornering, as well as improving stability and traction on wet and icy roads.

The optional 17.1-inch Revolve rotating centre screen can swivel from portrait format Control Mode to Hollywood Mode – a landscape 16:9 widescreen format – allowing the vehicle occupants to enjoy movies and videos, complete with 360° sound, in an immersive cinematic experience.

California Mode allows you to open six side windows (including the rearmost ‘Doggie’ windows), the rear window and the roof simultaneously with just one button, effectively transforming the SUV into a convertible.
