Ford Explorer Electric

Ford Explorer Electric

Another all-electric SUV will be on sale later this year, the Ford Explorer Electric.

Ford hasn’t released details about specifications such as battery size or range, apart from saying that the Explorer Electric has the ability to rapid charge from 10% to 80% in just 25 minutes.

The EV will have a large (14.6-inch) central touchscreen, which will feature Ford’s SYNC Move infotainment system, and the driver will be able to move the screen up or down. And behind it will be a secret compartment where valuables can be locked away. There will also be a storage area between the two front seats where a 15-inch laptop can be stored, and a total of 450-litres of luggage space with the rear seats up.

Ford currently has the Mustang Mach-E as its only EV, but it says that the Explorer Electric will be the start of Ford in Europe’s transition to offering an all-electric portfolio of passenger vehicles by 2030.

The Ford Explorer Electric – available in two versions, Select and Premium – will be built at the new Ford Cologne EV Campus in Germany.
