Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV

If the Mercedes EQS SUV isn’t posh enough for you, you now have another option: the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV.

The Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV aims to inject another level of luxury, with various unique exterior design details and some interesting bespoke interior features.

The rear seats are equipped with ventilation, massage function and neck and shoulder heating as standard. There are also two 11.6-inch displays on the backrests of the front seats, as well as the MBUX rear tablet, which can be used outside the vehicle.

A surround sound system features Dolby Atmos immersive audio and the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV also has its own ‘Aerial Grace’ driving sound that has been specially created for its interior occupants.

There’s Ambient Lighting, naturally, which runs through the entire vehicle, and in addition the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV features Active Ambient Lighting with 253 individually controllable LEDs and 64 individually selectable colours including the Maybach-specific colour schemes of Rose Gold White and Amethyst Glow.

Then there’s the aroma. A filter aims to provide clean air quality in the cabin, but the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV also has its own fragrance, named ‘No. 12 MOOD Ebony’, made from sandalwood and spices.

As if that isn’t all enough, there’s the option to specify that the car’s centre console includes two folding tables, a cooling compartment and silver-plated champagne goblets.

Back seat passengers probably aren’t interested in the details of the powertrain, but for the driver’s benefit, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV has two electric motors and 4MATIC all-wheel drive as standard, with a new Disconnect Unit that can automatically decouple the electric motor on the car’s front axle to increase the range.

The electric motors generate a power output of 484 kW and torque of 950 Nm, resulting in a 0-62 mph acceleration time of 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 130 mph. The electric driving range is expected to be up to 372 miles, and the car can ultra-rapid charge at up to 200 kW DC.

AIRMATIC air suspension with continuously adjustable damping is standard and the vehicle level can be raised by up to 35 millimetres to increase the ground clearance. Rear-axle steering with a steering angle of up to 4.5 degrees is also standard, or alternatively the rear wheels can be turned up to 10 degrees.

In addition to the DYNAMIC SELECT driving programmes ECO, SPORT, OFFROAD and INDIVIDUAL, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV has the special MAYBACH drive programme as the standard setting, replacing COMFORT.
