FIAT 600e

FIAT 600e announced

The new, electric FIAT 600e has been announced, offering car buyers more space than the FIAT 500 city car.

Sharing the same name as the FIAT 600 from the ‘50s, the ‘B-segment’ five-door 600e is 4,170cm long, and has five seats with a 360-litre boot.

The 600e has a 54 kWh battery which gives a WLTP combined range of more than 250 miles, and more than 372 miles in the city (WLTP urban cycle). It has a maximum DC rapid charging rate of 100 kW, allowing a 10% to 80% charge in less than 30 minutes, and it features an 11 kW onboard AC charger. The electric motor has an output of 115 kW, resulting in acceleration from 0-62 mph in 9.0 seconds.

The 600e is available in two different fully electric versions, the FIAT 600e (RED) and the FIAT 600e La Prima.

FIAT has said that it won’t be offering any of its cars in grey, so the 600e (RED) is available in – yes – red, and black or white. The 600e La Prima is available in four different colours that FIAT says “recall Italian beauty and natural landscapes: Sun of Italy, Sea of Italy, Earth of Italy, Sky of Italy” (we’ll let you try and guess what colours these descriptions translate to).

The 600e can be ordered in the UK from autumn, with pricing and specification to be confirmed beforehand, and the first customer deliveries are expected later in the winter.
