The Audi Q4 e-tron is being updated for the 2024 model year and one improvement is a longer range of up to 339 miles from the 77 kWh (82 kWh gross) battery. The updated Q4 can also charge more quickly, as well as having more power, performance and efficiency thanks to a new electric motor on the rear axle of rear-wheel drive and quattro all-wheel drive models.
The Q4 e-tron quattro models now have a maximum DC charging rate of 175 kW (up from 125 kW), allowing a 10% to 80% charge in around 28 minutes. The rear-wheel drive Q4 e-tron models have a maximum charge rate of 135 kW. A battery protection function automatically limits the charge level to 80 percent to extend battery life.
The Q4 e-tron features a route planner which prioritises rapid and ultra-rapid chargers and preconditions the battery to ensure the optimum temperature before arriving at a charger in order to ensure the fastest possible charging, and the battery is also cooled after charging.
The Q4 e-tron’s suspension and steering has been tuned in order to provide a more ‘Audi-like’ driving experience.
Audi Q4 45 e-tron and Q4 55 e-tron variants are available. The Audi Q4 45 e-tron and the Audi Q4 Sportback 45 e-tron with rear-wheel drive produce 286 PS and accelerate from 0-62mph in 6.7 seconds; the more aerodynamic Sportback version is now capable of up to 339 miles on the WLTP cycle.
The Audi Q4 45 e-tron quattro and the Audi Q4 Sportback 45 e-tron with 286 PS take 6.6 seconds to accelerate from 0-62mph. The top-of-the-range Q4 55 e-tron quattro and Q4 Sportback 55 e-tron quattro models with 340 PS accelerate from 0-62mph in only 5.4 seconds. The top speed for all models is now 112mph.
The updated Q4 e-tron will be available to order from 26 September, with the full Q4 e-tron model line-up as follows:
