Nissan has announced that the Ariya NISMO will be going on sale in the UK, based on the all-wheel drive 87KWh Ariya e-4ORCE, which will be ‘tuned’ by NISMO to deliver a more sporty driving experience – the first time an EV has received this treatment.
Nissan says that the Ariya NISMO aims to give customers “the handling and cornering ability usually reserved for motorsport”.
The NISMO-tuned e-4ORCE (all-wheel drive) system is claimed to improve power and torque distribution to the wheels, ensuring maximum traction in all weather, and performance will be enhanced thanks to adjustments to the Vehicle Dynamics Control.
Improved aerodynamics will reduce drag and generate greater downforce at higher speeds, the suspension and brakes will be tweaked, and the Ariya NISMO will be fitted with high grip tyres.
The interior of the Ariya NISMO will feature special NISMO seats, inspired by Formula E cars.
