Electric Ford Puma Gen-E revealed

As further evidence of more mainstream electric cars for consumers being rolled out by manufacturers, the all-electric Ford Puma Gen-E compact crossover has been revealed, bringing zero emission driving to Ford’s best-selling car in Britain for the first time, with prices starting at £29,995.

The Puma Gen-E delivers up to 233 miles of range on a full charge from its 43 kWh battery, or 325 miles of city range, with efficiency of 13.1 kWh/100 km. A 10% to 80% charge can be achieved in 23 minutes using a 100 kW DC rapid charger.

Performance statistics include a power output of 168 PS, 290 Nm of torque, and a 0-62 mph acceleration time of 8 seconds. Good news includes that the kerb weight is just 1,563 kg, making it one of the lighter EVs, and hopefully aiding the driving experience. It can even tow 750 kg.

A large boot offers 574-litres of space, with an additional 43 litres in the frunk under the bonnet. The Puma Gen-E has a gear selector behind the steering wheel, selectable one-pedal driving and four drive modes.

There are two trim levels, Puma Gen-E, with 17-inch alloy wheels, and Puma Gen-E Premium, with 18-inch alloy wheels. Options include 19-inch alloy wheels and a Winter Pack consisting of heated front seats, heated windscreen and heated steering wheel. Colour options include exclusive Electric Yellow and Desert Island Blue.

“We are delighted that Britian’s best-selling vehicle, the Ford Puma, is now fully electric” said Lisa Brankin, Ford UK Chair and Managing Director. “Starting at £29,995, this vehicle will be great at supporting our customers switch to electric.”

The EV features electric drive units assembled at the company’s facility in Halewood in the UK, which started production in December 2024.

The Puma Gen-E is available to order now with deliveries beginning in spring 2025.
