Kia EV4 and Concept EV2 revealed

The Kia EV4 electric saloon and hatchback and the Concept EV2 B-segment electric SUV have been revealed at the 2025 Kia EV Day in Barcelona, along with the Kia PV5 electric van.

The Kia Concept EV2 is an SUV designed for urban drivers and features innovative rear-hinged back doors with no central pillar, a wide-opening tailgate, and a spacious multi-configurable interior with a flat floor within a compact exterior. The second-row seats fold up, allowing the front-row seats to slide back as far as possible.

The EV2 also offers Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charging and Over-the-Air (OTA) updates.

Kia’s ‘message lighting’ allows occupants to display text messages through the vehicle’s windows to communicate with pedestrians and other road users. Triangular speakers mounted in the door trim are removable and portable, allowing users to place the speakers in different locations inside the vehicle, or even remove the speakers from the vehicle.

The Kia EV2 is expected to launch in Europe and other regions in 2026.

The Kia EV4 is the brand’s first C-segment electric saloon (four-door) and hatchback (five-door), with 58.3kWh standard and 81.4kWh long-range battery options, with an electric range of 390 miles for the long-range saloon model, and 266 miles for the standard saloon model. The long-range EV4 hatchback has a range of 365 miles.

Full underbody covers contribute to a low drag coefficient of 0.23Cd. 10% to 80% charging is possible in just 31 minutes for the long-range model from a 400V EV-dedicated, front-wheel drive platform.

The EV4 has 3.6kVA Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality for indoor and outdoor use, as well as 10kVA Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) functionality.

A 150kW electric motor delivers a 0-62mph acceleration time of 7.4 seconds.

The EV4 features a 30-inch combined wide screen display, ‘Rest Mode’ and ‘Theatre Mode’, along with a Vehicle Smart TV solution offering entertainment options including YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, games and karaoke. The EV4 saloon has luggage space of 490 litres, or 435 litres for the hatchback.

Production of the EV4 will commence in the second half of the year for the Europe-only hatchback with a European launch to follow. Full UK specifications and pricing for the Kia EV4 will be confirmed later in 2025.
