The Nissan MICRA EV will be here in 2025 with two battery options delivering up to 253 miles of electric range.
The MICRA EV will be the first of four new fully electric models to be introduced by 2027 as part of Nissan’s push towards electrification. After the MICRA will be the Nissan LEAF, Nissan JUKE, and a new A-segment model.
Available for the first time as a fully electric model, the new MICRA will be available in two battery options: 40kWh and 52kWh. The MICRA with the 40kWh battery has a range of 192 miles with maximum power of 90kW and torque of 225Nm. With the 52kWh battery, the range is 253 miles, with power of 110kW and 245Nm of torque.
The 40kWh model can rapid charge at up to 80kW, or 100kW for the 52kWh version. A 15% to 80% charge should take around 30 minutes. As well as battery heating and cooling capability, a heat pump is standard on both battery options.
The new MICRA will be equipped with V2L (vehicle to load) technology on both battery versions, giving owners the option to use the battery to power external electrical devices.
The MICRA shares its AmpR EV platform with the Renault 5 and features front suspension utilising independent struts and passive dampers, and rear suspension consisting of multi-link geometry. Weighing 1,400kg with the 40kWh battery, or 1,524kg with the 52kWh battery, the MICRA is significantly lighter than many other EVs.
European sales of the new MICRA will start in late 2025.
