Jeep Recon: All-Electric and Trail Rated

The 2026 Jeep Recon is the first and only fully electric Trail Rated SUV in the industry.

Built on purpose-designed electric architecture, the Jeep Recon features standard, all-electric, four-wheel drive with Jeep’s Selec-Terrain system with multiple drive modes tailored for all conditions.

Producing 650hp and 840 Nm of instant torque, the Jeep Recon accelerates from zero to 60 mph in as little as 3.7 seconds and has an estimated all electric range of up to 250 miles.

Production of the new Jeep Recon will begin early in 2026 with initial launches in the U.S. and Canada, followed by global expansion.

At the heart of the Jeep Recon propulsion system are the front and rear Stellantis-designed electric drive modules (EDMs), each rated at 250kw, delivering standard electric 4×4 propulsion and instant torque on demand. Each EDM combines an electric motor, gearing and power electronics into a single, compact unit for enhanced efficiency.

Off-road performance is further enhanced by an electronic locking differential, which ensures torque is delivered to both rear wheels when engaged.

The front axle incorporates automatic disconnects at each wheel end, optimising energy use and range during typical on-road driving when rear-drive propulsion is more efficient.

Engineers equipped the Jeep Recon for trail duty with large-diameter half shafts and robust constant velocity (CV) joints to efficiently deliver all torque to the wheels. The 100kWh, 400-volt battery pack is protected by a comprehensive suite of sturdy, high-strength steel underbody shields.

The suspension and standard 33-inch tyres on the rugged Moab trim, which debuts first, and which will be offered exclusively in the US and Canada, provide 9.4 inches of ground clearance. Off-road specifications include 34-degree approach angle, 34.5-degree departure angle and 23.5-degree breakover angle.

The Selec-Terrain traction management system includes a Rock mode for the Moab trim (along with Auto, Sport, Snow, Sand).

The Jeep Recon is also fitted with low-speed Selec-Speed Control for navigating challenging inclines and declines. When engaged, Selec-Speed Control maintains a set speed, allowing the driver to focus entirely on steering.

The Jeep Recon is the only fully electric vehicle designed with removable doors, rear quarter glass and swing gate glass; no tools are required.
