The new MGS6 EV is a C-segment SUV with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive and a range of up to 329 miles.
It joins the MGS5 EV, another C-segment SUV, and the MG IM6 SUV, also a C-segment SUV. That means that MG now has three C-segment SUVs on sale.
The MGS6 EV is longer than the MGS5 EV, and has a larger, 674-litre boot, which extends to 1,910 litres with the rear seats folded, and a front ‘frunk’ offers up to 124 litres of storage.
The MGS6 EV has a 77 kWh battery and is available in three trim levels. The MGS6 EV SE Long Range features a single motor with a total power output of 180kW and a WLTP combined range of 329 miles.
The MGS6 EV Trophy Long Range offers the same 329 miles capability, power and rear-wheel drive configuration but with more equipment.
The all-wheel drive MGS6 EV Trophy Dual Motor has a power output of 266kW and a 0-62mph time of just 5.1 seconds, along with a WLTP combined range of 301 miles.
All three models are capable of DC charging from 10% to 80%in 38 minutes.
The all-new MGS6 EV is the third MG model to use the Modular Scalable Platform first offered on the MG4 EV.
All variants have a High Definition 10.25-inch Driver Display and 12.8-inch infotainment screen, with Trophy models featuring a Head Up Display as well as heated and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof and an 11-speaker audio system. Five drive modes are available, with five regeneration levels including One-Pedal mode.
MG says that in response to customer feedback, the MGS6 EV features physical dials and buttons to control main functions like heating, ventilation and the audio system. Other manufacturers are taking similar approaches, yet other brands are ploughing on with having all car controls buried in the touchscreen.
The MGS6 EV SE Long Range is available at £37,995, the Trophy Long Range is priced at £40,995, and the Trophy Dual Motor £43,995.
