Since its official launch in 2024, EVUK, and its mission for ‘driving demand’ for battery EVs, has had a tangible impact. Launched by industry luminaries – including the late Quentin Willson, Octopus CEO, Greg Jackson, and Fully Charged Founder, Robert Llewellyn – EVUK’s strategy was shaped by Dan Caesar (Founder), Dr. Andy Palmer (Chair), and Tanya Sinclair (CEO), with the aim to make its #CheaperBetterBatteryElectric narrative ubiquitous.
Following its landmark ‘Cost of Driving Electric’ report – which demonstrated that >80% of UK drivers can save money, often significant sums, by driving a battery EV – EVUK was able to attract >50 industry partners, including some of the biggest brands in the sector. Partner organisations include household names such as BYD, Admiral Insurance, Lloyds Banking Group, Octopus, OVO, Osprey, Omoda, Jaecoo, Polestar, Shell, Tesla, Volvo, as well as many more organisations representing the breadth and dynamic nature of the wider EV ecosystem.
HOME: New Chief Operating Officer to Accelerate Demand-Driving Activity in the UK
To support the next phase of growth, EVUK has appointed Oliver van Bilsen as Chief Operating Officer, starting in April.Oliver will lead an ambitious programme of consumer activations in 2026, including major appearances at the UK’s main EV test-drive events: Everything Electric NORTH (May), WEST (June), and GREATER LONDON (Sept).
Oliver brings extensive international leadership experience, having previously held senior roles at Shell, Yahoo!, Coca-Cola, and most recently Hubject. In his new role, he will work closely with EVUK CEO Tanya Sinclair to expand industry partnerships and scale initiatives that drive EV demand by increasing consumer understanding.
CEO Tanya Sinclair said:“I’m delighted to welcome Oliver to the EVUK team. He brings deep industry experience at a pivotal moment for the UK’s EV transition. Today, around one in four new cars sold in the UK is battery electric, and electric vehicles are the fastest-selling segment in the used car market. But the job is far from done. EVUK exists to support people on their electric journey by building confidence and cutting through misinformation. With Oliver joining the team, we will accelerate our work with industry partners to help the UK realise its EV ambitions.”
COO, Oliver van Bilsen, said:“More consumers than ever are awakening to the benefits of battery EVs, yet misinformation has created misconceptions around cost, convenience and capability that still hold many people back. EVUK bridges the gap between industry expertise and public understanding. We bring together companies from across the EV ecosystem to engage directly with consumers, policymakers, and the media — showing that battery electric vehicles are already cheaper, better and more enjoyable to drive for the vast majority of British drivers. I’m delighted to be joining EVUK at such an important moment. I look forward to working with the team and our partners to help make a significant impact and keep the UK firmly on track to meet its transition targets.”
AWAY: Dan Caesar to launch Electric Vehicles GLOBAL later this year
Additionally, Dan Caesar, will formally launch Electric Vehicles GLOBAL in June, as he works to adapt EVUK’s business model, and its #CheaperBetterBatteryElectric mantra, to the markets most in need of a narrative reset.
Electric Vehicles UK, and Electric Vehicles GLOBAL, Founder, Dan Caesar: “Since its inception, EVUK has been asked to ‘set up shop’ in numerous other countries around the world. In the post-truth era, battery EVs have been under heavy fire. Industrial scale misinformation means that the perception of battery EVs doesn’t reflect the realities. In fact, repeat-intent from EV drivers is reported to be as high as 95%*, when those that switch try vehicles that are cheaper and better than what they’ve experienced before. EV information warfare exists in almost every country, and is infecting the car industry itself, policy-makers, press coverage, as well as people’s buying habits, so our ‘driving demand’ mission has struck a chord in many countries. With the launch of Electric Vehicles GLOBAL we will work with the emergent EV industry and EV drivers around the world, to demonstrate the positive realities of driving electric.”
