The Hyundai IONIQ 3 electric compact hatchback has been launched which aims to combine aerodynamic efficiency and interior space, accommodating three adults in the rear with luggage capacity of 441 litres.
Built on Hyundai’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) with 400-volt architecture, two battery options will be available with projected WLTP ranges of 213 miles (42.2 kWh, Standard Range), with the 61 kWh Long Range version targeting a class-leading range of 307 miles.
DC charging from 10% to 80% will be possible in approximately 29 minutes, complemented by AC charging capability of up to 22 kW.
The front-wheel drive electric powertrains deliver up to 147 PS of power output and 250 Nm of torque, with a 0-62 mph time of 9.0 seconds (Standard Range) or 9.6 seconds (Long Range), with a top speed of 105 mph. Kerb weight is 1,550 kg or 1,580 kg.
The IONIQ 3 also marks the debut of the Pleos Connect infotainment system, delivering sharp graphics, an intuitive user experience and broad customisation options.
Customers can personalise their IONIQ 3 with eleven exterior colours, multiple interior schemes, and wheel options from 16 to 19-inch (including N Line variants).
The IONIQ 3 features Plug & Charge, an integrated EV route planner and interior and exterior Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality.
Within the car’s 4,155mm length, a long wheelbase and flat-floor layout create generous legroom and headroom, while the 322-litre boot also has a ‘Megabox’ providing an additional 119 litres of storage space beneath the boot floor.
Depending on specification, the IONIQ 3 offers features such as Relaxation Seats, heated and ventilated seating, a BOSE Premium Sound System, dual-zone automatic climate control and ambient LED lighting.
