Isuzu D-Max EV launched as UK’s first one-tonne electric pick-up

The Isuzu D-Max EV launches in right-hand drive at the Commercial Vehicle Show 2026 as the UK’s first fully electric pick-up offering over a tonne of payload, 3.5-tonne braked towing capacity and permanent four-wheel drive. UK deliveries begin in May.

The D-Max EV uses a 66.9kWh lithium-ion battery and twin motors, 45.9kW front, 103.4kW rear, for a total output of 149.3kW (200PS) and 347.6Nm of torque. WLTP combined range is 163 miles, rising to 224 miles in the city cycle. Charging is at up to 11kW AC (full charge in six hours at a three-phase outlet) but only 50kW DC (20% to 80% in one hour). Top speed is 84mph and 0-62mph takes 10.1 seconds.

Payload is 1,060kg, towing capacity 3,500kg braked, gross train weight 6,000kg. The D-Max EV uses the latest-generation D-Max ladder chassis strengthened for heavy payloads, with a new De-Dion semi-independent rear suspension that Isuzu says reduces cabin noise and vibration by up to 10% under full acceleration. Ground clearance is 210mm, wading depth 600mm, with approach and departure angles of 30.5 degrees and 24.2 degrees respectively and a full Rough Terrain Mode for off-road use.

Two trim levels are offered: eDL40 and eV-Cross, with Extended Cab and Double Cab configurations. Standard equipment includes leather/cloth interiors, dual-zone climate, heated seats, Bi-LED headlights, a 7-inch driver display and front and rear parking sensors.

Pricing (CVOTR, ex. VAT):

D-Max eDL40 Extended £59,995

D-Max eDL40 Double £60,995

D-Max eV-Cross Double £62,495

The D-Max EV comes with a 5-year/125,000-mile vehicle warranty and an 8-year/125,000-mile battery warranty.
