Kia EV3 added to Electric Car Grant list with new EV4 Motion trim

The Kia EV3 now qualifies for the UK Government’s £1,500 Electric Car Grant on its Air and GT-Line trims, and Kia has introduced a new EV4 Motion variant that also qualifies for the grant.

This is the third Kia model to attract the ECG after the EV4 and PV5 Passenger qualified in December 2025. With the grant applied, the EV3 Air Standard Range (58.3kWh) starts at £31,555 OTR, the EV3 Air Long Range (81.4kWh) at £34,555 OTR, and the EV3 GT-Line LR at £37,995 OTR.

The EV3 has been one of Kia’s most decorated launches, winning the 2025 UK Car of the Year and World Car of the Year. A dual-motor AWD GT variant was unveiled separately, with pricing to follow later in 2026.

The new EV4 Motion sits between GT-Line and GT-Line S in the EV4 range. Specification includes an 8-speaker Harman Kardon premium sound system, unique cloth and artificial leather upholstery, outer rear heated seats, surround view monitor, blind-spot view monitor and an electric driver’s seat with lumbar support. It uses the same 201bhp front motor and 81.4kWh battery as most EV4 trims and is offered only as a five-door hatchback (not the fastback) and only with the Long Range battery. Priced at £38,995 OTR including the £1,500 grant.

The EV4 Motion is built at Kia’s plant in Slovakia and is on sale now.

Kia has flagged that the EV2 is expected to qualify for both Tier 1 and Tier 2 of the grant in due course.
