Vauxhall Astra and Astra Sports Tourer Electric

Vauxhall Astra and Astra Sports Tourer updated

Vauxhall Astra and Astra Sports Tourer models have been updated, with orders now open.

The Sports Tourer is priced the same as the hatch, with no added premium, while the Astra Electric now qualifies for the £1,500 Electric Car Grant (ECG), with prices starting from £28,495, making it £1,500 cheaper than equivalent hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions.

The new Astra and Astra Sports Tourer feature sharper and more distinctive styling. The updated fully electric version features a new 58.3kWh (gross) battery, enhancing driving range by 22 miles to 281 miles (WLTP) on a single charge.

Vauxhall Astra and Astra Sports Tourer customers are able to choose from either hybrid, plug-in hybrid, or fully electric. With the ECG applied, the Astra Electric is now available for £1,500 less than the equivalent hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions.

This continues Vauxhall’s pioneering pricing strategy, first seen on the Frontera Electric, which is available for over £2,000 less than the Frontera Hybrid.

Across all New Astra hatchback and Sports Tourer models and powertrains, customers are offered three trim levels: Griffin, GS and Ultimate.

As with all Vauxhall electric cars, the new Astra Electric is available with the Electric All In package to make the transition to electric easier than ever, with access to a variety of charging solutions to provide the ultimate in peace of mind electric motoring.

With the Electric All In offer, retail customers of Vauxhall’s electric range benefit from:

• Eight years of comprehensive roadside assistance, including emergency charging assistance

• £500 credit towards one of the following:

– Home wallbox – an Ohme Pro model, installed by Octopus Energy

– Octopus Electroverse charging credit

– Connected Kerb charging credit

– Tesco charging credit

– Kerbo Charge cross-pavement channel installation

• 10,000 miles’ worth of free home charging when switching to the Intelligent Octopus GO home energy tariff, providing significant cost savings for EV owners*

• Unlimited access to connected services via Vauxhall Connect Plus

Vauxhall is making electric vehicles more accessible, first with the Frontera Electric – which is available for £2,375 less than the Frontera Hybrid – and now with the new Astra too. With the ECG applied, the Astra Electric is available for £1,500 less than the equivalent hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions. Prices for Astra Electric start from £28,495 OTR, including the ECG.

Customers are given greater choice and value for money with a unique market offering, as the prices for New Astra hatchback and Sports Tourer are identically matched across all trims, meaning drivers can enjoy the Sports Tourer’s extra space and practicality without paying a premium.

All versions of the new Astra are priced well under the threshold for the Expensive Car Supplement – for electric/zero emission cars this is £50,000 (raised from £40,000 and backdated to cars registered on or after 1 April 2025). The threshold remains at £40,000 for petrol/diesel cars. Avoiding the Expensive Car Supplement can save customers £2,200 in VED (road tax) over the first six years of ownership.
