PEUGEOT E 208 GTi

PEUGEOT E 208 GTi prices from £34,995

The new PEUGEOT E-208 GTi can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.5 seconds and prices start from £34,995.

PEUGEOT is celebrating 100 years since its first time racing at the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans and has marked the occasion by announcing the technical specification and price point of the E-208 GTi electric hot hatch.

The PEUGEOT E 208 GTi features an electric motor developing 281 hp and delivering 345 Nm of torque. PEUGEOT Sport engineers have extensively optimised this motor, particularly its electronic management: the electronic board components and control software are directly derived from motorsport.

With the best power to weight ratio in its segment (182bhp/tonne), the PEUGEOT E 208 GTi delivers a 0 to 62 mph of just 5.5 seconds. Top speed is limited to 112 mph.

The PEUGEOT E 208 GTi uses the same 54 kWh gross battery (51kWh useable) as the E 208, but its management has been adapted to meet the demands of the GTi.

PEUGEOT Sport engineers applied motorsport knowledge in battery thermal management focused particularly on coolant flow strategy, when and how much coolant is delivered depending on temperature, allowing the battery to always deliver maximum performance, without power limitation regardless of driving conditions.

Depending on the choice of high performance tyres, the PEUGEOT E 208 GTi offers combined WLTP range of up to:

• 233 miles with Hankook Ventus S1 Evo3 tyres (no cost option)

• 219 miles with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S performance tyres (standard).

A 20% to 80% charge should take under 30 minutes on a 100 kW DC charger, and the E 208 GTi features V2L (Vehicle to Load) to power external devices.

The PEUGEOT E 208 GTi body has been lowered by 25 mm and tracks have been widened by 56 mm at the front and 28 mm at the rear. The E 208 GTi body features 18-inch wheels with 215/40 R18 tyres.

A mechanical limited slip differential has been integrated into the reduction gearbox, ensuring optimal power delivery even in low grip conditions.

ESP is configured for everyday safety, with a Sport mode allowing greater driver freedom, particularly on a track. In Sport mode, regenerative braking is disabled so the driver can focus purely on performance.

Seven body colours are available, several referencing the 205 GTi:

• Okénite White

• Elixir Red

• Miramar Blue (New colour)

• Nera Black

• Cumulus Grey

• Selenium Grey

• Agueda Yellow
