Range Rover Electric

Range Rover Electric on sale from £154,070

The Range Rover Electric is now on sale from £154,070, with up to up to 550PS of power and up to 372 miles of range.

The Range Rover Electric has two 260kW motors and traction management that responds in as little as 50 milliseconds, 100 times faster than a combustion‑engine equivalent, on any surface, and it can even wade through up to 900mm of water.

A 118.5kWh battery with 800‑volt technology and split‑charging enables DC charging from 10%‑80% in 22 minutes with the ability to add 137 miles in 10 minutes.

The exterior design remains largely unchanged, just gaining an aerodynamically‑optimised grille, wheels and tailored underbody to maximise motorway range.

The Range Rover Electric has been driven the equivalent of 38 times around the world during physical testing, with more than 250,000 hours of virtual tests undertaken – more than any previous Range Rover.

Single‑pedal driving enables the Range Rover Electric to effortlessly climb slopes up to 45 degrees, while a lower centre of gravity and twin‑chamber air suspension enhance driving dynamics.

The Range Rover Electric is anticipated to be the most patented Range Rover ever, with 300 patent applications filed, including ThermAssist heat management technology and Range Rover’s own design of battery and motors made at JLR’s Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre in the UK.

The Range Rover Electric exemplifies JLR’s flexible propulsion strategy, joining mild‑hybrid, plug‑in hybrid and ICE models on the same architecture – all manufactured at Solihull in the UK.

The Range Rover Electric is available to order now, from £154,070 in the UK.

The Range Rover Electric features twin permanent magnet 260kW electric motors generating up to 550PS and 850Nm of torque, with a WLTP range of up to 372 miles and a real‑world range of up to 333 miles.

New technologies enable precise control in all environments, including Intelligent Driveline Dynamics (IDD) which distributes rear torque from 100 per cent to zero per cent to prevent loss of traction, and Integrated Traction Management (ITM) which controls motor speed within 50 milliseconds and manages slip up to 100 times quicker than an ICE vehicle equivalent.

Integrated Traction Management works in concert with the new Single Pedal mode, providing owners exceptional control to smoothly pull away up to 33‑degrees with ease – a slope as steep as a black‑diamond ski run – or complete a rolling climb ascend up to 45‑degree slopes.

Using the fastest available 350kW rapid DC public chargers, the Range Rover Electric can charge from 10‑80 per cent in around 22 minutes or add 220km in 10 minutes (WLTP) when the vehicle is charging at its maximum charge rate.

The first ever electric Range Rover is powered by a usable 118.5kWh lithium‑ion double‑stack battery with 800‑volt architecture.

Twin permanent magnet 260kW electric motors produce 20% more torque than other motors of the same size and feature silicon carbide semiconductors which enable switching speeds measured in microseconds.

The Range Rover Electric will complete 0‑60mph in as little as 4.3 seconds, with overtaking speeds from 50‑75mph in as little as 2.7 seconds.

Owners can remain connected to their Range Rover Electric via the new Range Rover App which provides the ability to select and schedule charging when the vehicle is parked and plugged in – for example at home – to help make the most of lower charging tariffs.

In the UK and Europe, clients have access to over one million public chargers, while in North America clients get access to the Tesla Supercharger network.

The Range Rover Electric has undergone exhaustive virtual and physical global testing and development. Tested in ‑40°C temperatures in Arjeplog, Sweden, the heat of the Dubai desert and JLR’s own Eastnor Castle facility in the UK, the Range Rover Electric has completed over 1.5 million kilometres and over a quarter of a million hours of testing in the virtual and physical worlds.

New technologies maximise its electric potential – including innovative range prediction features and advanced ThermAssist heat management system which optimises driving range, charging speeds, battery longevity and performance in extreme temperatures, adding up to 25 miles of range and a 40% reduction of heating energy use. Over 300 patent applications have been filed for Range Rover Electric – the most for a single vehicle in the brand’s history.

To help maximise the safety and quality of the battery, JLR’s new battery testing laboratory subjects live batteries to extreme multi‑axis vibration and shock testing in ‑40°C to +90°C. This combined with the high strength aluminium enclosure, means Range Rover Electric is built to withstand high impact knocks and jolts, while advanced safety features exceed industry standards.

Each Range Rover Electric comes with a Battery Digital Twin which provides over 900 diagnostic data points, coupled with JLR’s leading Software Over the Air capability.

The Range Rover Electric comes with an eight‑year or 100,000‑mile battery warranty.

To support production of the Range Rover Electric, JLR has transformed its Solihull manufacturing facility, combining advanced manufacturing, digital technology and a major investment in electrification skills. Powering this transformation, 9,000 manufacturing employees in Solihull have now been upskilled for electrification, with a further 1,500 colleagues trained across JLR’s wider West Midlands footprint.

JLR’s wider manufacturing network, including its Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre in Wolverhampton, will support Range Rover Electric production. The site now produces battery packs and electric drive units alongside internal combustion engines, making it the UK’s largest internal combustion engine and electric powertrain production facility.

Order books are now open for Range Rover Electric in a choice of standard or long‑wheelbase body designs in SE, HSE and Autobiography specifications, as well as SV, SV Ultra and SV Black. A curated First Edition is also available, finished in Belgravia Green, Santorini Black or Varesine Blue.
