Our work has always been driven by the overriding desire to look after the environment, which includes helping with solutions to the issues of climate change and local air pollution, but we also believe that today’s overriding political priority is sustainable development; it is possible for people to like cars and the planet, and so for 20 years our passion has been to promote cars with the least impact on our environment.

Green Car Guide was originally conceived in response to a complete lack of information in one place on the web about the latest green cars available in the UK (20 years ago!).

The site aims to provide information to consumers about the latest green cars in the UK in a quality, informed and engaging way.

Green Car Guide focuses on cars that are best in class in terms of emissions, fuel economy and efficiency, but that are also great to drive.

Our Green Car Buyer’s Guide is updated monthly and contains the lowest emission cars in ten different categories – most of the greenest cars are now battery electric vehicles.

We test class-leading green cars and our reviews seek to examine how good a car is to drive, but we always maintain our focus on economy and emissions.

We also produce our own unique features and report on green car-related events.

The team behind Green Car Guide has a unique combination of knowledge about green cars and wider environmental issues. The site’s founder, Paul Clarke, regularly speaks at events on the subject of green cars, and contributes to other publications and websites.
