Popular EV Options for 4×4 Drivers

4x4s are hugely common on UK roads these days and their popularity continues to increase as such a practical option. Most car manufacturers have adapted to this trend and offered at least one 4×4 in their range, including some environmentally-friendly options. This is important as this is another major trend in the auto industry with consumers becoming eco-conscious but also wanting to save money.

The 4×4 Trend

As mentioned, 4x4s have become hugely popular in recent times. Research shows that there are many different types of drivers that are driving 4x4s, including farmers, tree surgeons, stockbrokers and merchant bankers. This means that you get some people driving these vehicles for their rugged nature and ability to handle tough terrain as well as those that simply require the extra space (often parents). 4x4s are popular everywhere, but they are most common in Aberdeenshire, Yorkshire, Devon and Worcestershire.

Pros & Cons

There are many good reasons to buy a 4×4. Obviously, they are capable of driving off-road and in challenging conditions and you have a lot of storage and interior space. Additionally, 4x4s tend to hold their value well and they are also generally considered to be safe as they can withstand more impact.

In terms of drawbacks, they tend to not be the most economical which means that they can be expensive to run (although the rise of EV 4x4s is changing this). They may require more maintenance, but you can do a lot of this yourself, including changing 4×4 tyres. They may also not be ideal for those that live in cities and places with tight parking spots due to their size.
