Green Car Guide has reviewed every electric car that’s ever been on sale in the UK since we launched in 2006, and 2025 saw an amazing range of new models. These are our Top 10 EVs that we’ve reviewed in 2025 that stand out in areas such as driving experience, design and engineering, innovation, practicality, value for money, fun, or all of the above.
Renault comes in first and second place with the Alpine A290 and the Renault 5. For out and out driving fun, but admittedly a niche choice, the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Rally comes in third. For the engineering behind its 0-62 mph time of 2.3 seconds (and for a bit of practicality), the Porsche Taycan Turbo S Sport Turismo is in fourth place. Genesis, Kia and Hyundai EVs are in 5th, 6th and 7th place with the GV60, EV6 GT and IONIQ 9. For offering something a bit more unique – seven seats and all-wheel drive (and it’s still one of the coolest-looking EVs) – the Volkswagen ID. Buzz GTX 4Motion is positioned in 8th place. BMW has to be in the list somewhere – until the new iX3 hits the road in the UK in early 2026, the i5 M60 Touring is the brand’s entry for 2025. And at 10 is another Genesis, the GV70, which isn’t likely to be on the radar of many people, but it’s a brilliant product.
