The biggest (and most exciting) line-up of electric cars ever seen in the North West was showcased at Liverpool’s Power Up! Event on 16 May 2025 at the Museum of Liverpool, with some of the very latest EVs including the brand new Alpine A290, Renault 5, Ford Puma Gen-E and Hyundai INSTER.
Green Car Guide’s editor Paul Clarke gave a presentation about the latest EVs, along with Richard Mallender from the Energy Saving Trust talking about EV myths, Dr. (TEE) ShenJi Tee from SP Energy Networks explained about Connecting EVs to the Local Electricity Network, Councillor Liam Robinson gave the Keynote Address ‘Supporting the Future of EVs in the Liverpool City Region’, and Rebecca Heyes from Liverpool City Region Combined Authority presented on the subject of Supporting EV Adoption Across the Region. Power Up! was hosted by Gill Nowell, founder of Hosted by Gill.
The event, organised by Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, was part of Mayor Rotheram’s broader commitment to becoming a greener, more sustainable city region, supporting the city region’s goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2035.
