Used electric cars offer excellent value for money and there is a lot less to go wrong because EVs have very few components in their powertrains (mainly a battery, electric motor and electronics) compared to internal combustion engined cars which have thousands of individual parts, all of which could – and do – break. EV batteries have been proven to last for many hundreds of thousands of miles – read our review of a Tesla Model S with 270,000 miles on the clock! And of course all EVs – new or used – have much cheaper running costs than petrol or diesel cars in the vast majority of cases.
