Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle Guidance for Local Authorities

Local authorities play a vital role in accelerating the uptake of ultra-low emission vehicles and achieving the ambition set out in the UK Government’s Road To Zero Strategy and the UK’s Climate Change Act. At the forefront of adoption are local businesses and, increasingly, members of the public, and local authorities play a vital role in educating and supporting them through the process.

This guidance, developed by the Energy Saving Trust Local Government Support Programme in partnership with Green Car Guide, aims to provide a one-stop shop for all things ultra-low emission vehicle by providing advice and guidance on how best to engage with businesses and consumers in a communications campaign. We’ve included facts, figures, definitions, best practice, case studies and more to help you develop a strong and engaging campaign to have maximum impact in your town or city.

We’ve also provided a gallery of example resources from communications campaigns run by local authorities to spark your creativity and share your ideas. If you got something you want to share, get in touch!

We hope you find the toolkit useful. For more support please contact the Energy Saving Trust or Green Car Guide team.
