ULEV

An Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) is defined as any car or van that emits 75g/km CO₂ or less. It is expected that this definition will change as technology advances, with vehicles requiring lower tailpipe CO₂ emissions and increased zero emission ranges.

No equivalent definition currently exists for trucks, although the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) has committed to the development of an Ultra-Low Emission Truck definition.
