ULEV

What is an Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV)?

An Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) is defined as any car or van that emits 75g/km CO2 or less. It is expected that this definition will change as technology advances, with vehicles requiring lower tailpipe CO2 emissions and increased zero emission ranges.

No equivalent definition currently exists for trucks, although the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) has committed to the development of an Ultra-Low Emission Truck definition.
