Vehicle Excise Duty rates from April 2020
Electric cars pay zero Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). And from April 1, 2020 and until March 31, 2025 all zero emission vehicles will be exempt from the Vehicle Excise Duty ‘expensive car supplement’. Presently all cars with a list price above £40,000 pay a £320 supplement, which increases to £325 from April 1, 2020, for five years from the second time a vehicle is taxed.
