Fuel Efficient MPVs (7 seaters)

Our guide to the most fuel-efficient 7-seater MPVs on sale in the UK today. We list our top eco-friendly and low emission 7-seater MPV cars in diesel, petrol and hybrid categories.

Diesel 7-Seater MPVs

First place

Renault Grand Scenic Dynamique Nav dCi 110 Hybrid Assist 80.7 mpg

The Grand Scenic looks great, but it can frustrate too with everything controlled through the central touchscreen. The hybrid assist system offers excellent official fuel economy but you do have to drive carefully to get the best out of it.

Second place

citroen c4 grand picasso Citroen Grand C4 SpaceTourer  74.3 mpg

The new Citroen Grand C4 SpaceTourer is light, spacious, stylish, and, with 74.3mpg, is efficient too.

Third place

Renault Grand Scenic 1.5 dCi Expression+ dCi 110  70.6 mpg

The Grand Scenic is a good-looking MPV which is ideal if you occasionally need to carry 7 people or you have lots of kids. It is a shame the sharp looks come at the expense of usability with the fiddly touchscreen being a particularly annoying example. At least the fuel economy on offer is outstanding, helped by standard stop/start.

Petrol 7-Seater MPVs

First place

Toyota Prius Plus Toyota Prius+  61.4 mpg

If you want an occasional 7 seat MPV with mega fuel economy and a sensibly sized boot, the Prius+ fits the bill.

Second place

citroen c4 grand picasso Citroen C4 Grand Picasso 56.5 mpg

The new Citroen C4 Grand Picasso is lighter, more spacious, has more individual styling, and, with 56.5 mpg, is more efficient.

Third place

Ford Grand C-Max Ford Grand C-Max  54.3 mpg

The Ford Grand C-Max, with its 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine, matches the economy of the Toyota Prius+ full hybrid.
