Alpine

Alpine is Renault Group’s electric performance brand and is in the middle of a complete reinvention. The previous A110 – a lightweight mid-engined petrol sports car built in Dieppe — has been joined by the brand’s first electric model, the A290: a hot-hatch reinterpretation of the Renault 5 E-Tech, named first in Green Car Guide’s 2025 EVs of the Year. It will be followed by the A390 electric crossover and, in time, an all-new electric A110 successor. Alpine has set out a strategy of becoming an electric-only performance brand, with seven new EVs planned by 2030, and is also competing in Formula 1 as a works team. The brand’s UK retail presence is small but growing, with Alpine “Centres” in major cities offering direct factory sales.
