Dacia is Renault Group’s value-focused brand and is best known in the UK for offering some of the cheapest new cars on sale. Its first electric model – the Dacia Spring – arrived in the UK in 2024 and is currently the lowest-priced new EV available, undercutting even the Citroen ë-C3. The Spring is built in China and is aimed squarely at second-car and urban-run-about use rather than long-distance driving. Beyond the Spring, the new Duster (now in its third generation) and the seven-seat Bigster are available as petrol-electric “Hybrid 140” full hybrids and as “TCe” mild hybrids. Dacia has no plug-in hybrid in the UK line-up. The brand continues to sit alongside Renault but with a deliberately simpler product strategy and more affordable pricing.
