Ford’s electric strategy has shifted from cautious to comprehensive. The Mustang Mach-E remains the brand’s flagship EV and the car that proved Ford could make a credible electric SUV. Underneath it now sit the Explorer and Capri – both built in Cologne on the Volkswagen MEB platform – alongside the Puma Gen-E, which brings electrification to Ford’s best-selling small SUV. On the commercial side, the E-Transit and Tourneo E Courier carry Ford’s long-standing van leadership into the electric era. Ford continues to offer mild-hybrid and full-hybrid petrol options across Puma, Kuga and Focus for buyers not yet ready to switch. After a slow start, the range is now one of the broadest in the industry.
