Mini

Mini is now in a new era. The current Cooper Electric (codenamed J01) and the larger Aceman crossover, both launched in 2024, are built on a new platform developed with China’s Great Wall Motor through the Spotlight Automotive joint venture, with production in China for European markets. They replace the previous Mini Electric that was based on the petrol Mini hatch. Above them sits the new electric Countryman, built alongside the BMW iX1 at BMW’s Leipzig plant in Germany. Mini, part of the BMW Group, has confirmed it will be an electric-only brand from the early 2030s. Petrol Cooper and Countryman models continue alongside the EVs for now, but the design language and infotainment – including the new circular OLED display – point firmly at the electric future.
