Toyota built its reputation on the full-hybrid Prius and remains the world’s biggest seller of hybrid vehicles. Its UK line-up now combines that hybrid expertise – Yaris, Yaris Cross, Corolla, C-HR, RAV4 and Camry are all available as petrol-hybrids – with a growing electric range. The bZ4X SUV, comprehensively updated for 2026, leads the way, joined by the new bZ4X Touring estate, the C-HR+ electric crossover, and the more affordable Urban Cruiser co-developed with Suzuki. The RAV4 plug-in hybrid offers up to 62 miles of electric range. Toyota also continues to sell the hydrogen fuel-cell Mirai, and its long-promised solid-state battery technology is expected to reach production cars from 2027. The Prius Plug-in mentioned in older coverage was discontinued in the UK in 2021.
